Open up your ares program and look in control panel,then click on the transfer tab,to the right you will see bandwidth.In that box you can set how much of your bandwidth is used for uploads and downloads.If it is set at zero it will use unlimited bandwidth and that will definitely slow you down on your network cause all computers on your network are sharing the same connection. You will have to experiment with the up and download settings to see what works best for your connection.Hope this helps solve your problem.

You can try Lime wire or Bear Share which are both free music-sharing programs. (among other sites)

However, if you want Ares to start working again, you may have to re download and re accept it to Norton as it is probably shutting it out because Ares is an unidentified program to it/ or appears to be unsafe.

Also, I’ve found that ares sometimes downloads slowly, doesn’t have as many music options etc. so it may just be time to get a better program such as Lime Wire – just based on previous Ares experience.

I just had the same problem. What I did was go into library, right click any song and click on “Locate file”. It will take you to the folder that they are located on your computer and from there you can click and drag, or copy and paste.
